The WA government has announced a new round of funding to help you, Western Australian farmers, access obligation-free advice on the feasibility of integrating carbon farming into your operations.

Eligible farmers in WA’s Agricultural Region may apply for up to $15,000 to engage advisors to assess potential, estimate costs and returns, and explain project risks, opportunities and obligations.

Independent Carbon Advisors is a collaboration of carbon professionals who have come together to create a comprehensive, property-specific Carbon Farming Plan to help you gain quality information on the broader scope that a soil and/or tree carbon project could have on your farm’s future.

Independent Carbon Advisors will provide:

A full carbon emissions calculation for your farming operation
Land management and project eligibility appraisal
Spatial mapping and carbon yield predictions for your property
Assessment of legal, taxation and financial issues that may arise from carbon farming

The package, priced at $18,000+GST, includes the required 20% co-contribution.
It provides invaluable information to help you assess your options.
