Jennifer West

Founder & Managing Director

Jennifer began Carbon West to make agriculture better, by encouraging more sustainable practices and in turn improving soil and production. Creating Carbon credits on top of those improvements is the ‘cream’ on top for the landholder. Jen is focused on working with farmers to improve financial and agronomic outcomes, and bring about positive social and environmental change.

Experienced in broadacre farming, natural resource management administration, business management and journalism/communications, Jennifer has developed a passion for the need for farmers to be well informed and thus empowered to participate in the carbon market on their own terms.  Jennifer hopes to encourage the adoption of agricultural practices which foster the sequestration of carbon in soil, to both improve food quality, farm sustainability and ecosystem health, while also enabling a potential new source of farm income.

With a ‘big picture’ view of agribusiness and the fast-growing carbon market, Jennifer is well-placed to educate, advise and manage carbon market opportunities for Australian agribusinesses.

Kerryn Maddams

Business Systems and Project Manager

Kerryn is one of the original team and has a varied ‘all rounder’ role now at Carbon West, keeping the admin side orderly as well as helping with carbon project management. Having braodacre agricultural experience, she has always been an advocate for land restoration for not only production, but for sustainability and ecological benefits.

With an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Business from Muresk Institute of Agriculture, Kerryn has an in-depth understanding of conventional farming, and a growing awareness of new developments and activity in the regenerative farming space. Her years as a farmer means she can communicate effectively with farmers and fully understands the challenges the industry presents.  She can assist clients with the ‘fiddly bits’ of carbon project registrations in the ACCU scheme.
